Cleaning in Fraser

Fraser is a nearly square city of 4.16 square miles in southern Macomb County, about 15 miles northeast of downtown Detroit. It borders Sterling Heights, where ProMaids Co is based, so our cleaners reach Fraser without leaving Macomb County. The city grew out of a German farming crossroads on the old Utica Plank Road, and it takes its name from Alexander J. Frazer, a Detroit lawyer who arrived in the late 1850s. Most of the city filled in during the 1950s, when the population climbed from 1,379 people to 7,027 in ten years. ProMaids Co cleans homes on both sides of that history, from the old crossroads blocks to the postwar streets that filled the farmland.

The Fraser Historical Commission preserves the old Grand Trunk depot at Masonic and Kelly Road, plus the Hemme Barn on the grounds of the 1875 Baumgartner House, which the city runs as a museum.

Questions about cleaning in Fraser

Do you clean homes near Big Boy Arena?

We clean homes on the streets around it. The complex, known for years as Fraser Hockeyland, holds five sheets of ice, and its largest is a stadium rink seating 3,400. It served as home ice for the Motor City Mechanics and hosted the Metro Jets from 2015 to 2021.

My house is in one of the 1950s subdivisions. Is that typical here?

That decade built most of Fraser's streets. Voters adopted the city charter in December 1956, and the city now holds about 3,484 people per square mile, with no rural residents counted inside its limits.

Do you cover the neighborhoods around McKinley Barrier-Free Park?

Those streets are in our Fraser area. The Fraser First Booster Club built that playground in three phases so children and adults of all abilities could use it, and Steffens Park near city hall has an amphitheater, splash pad and walking path in its plans.
